On Friday, the crash of a small twin-engine airplane was reported on a major avenue in Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brazil and South America. The incident resulted in the death of two people and left two others injured. The plane, which had departed from the Campo de Marte private jet airport in Sao Paulo bound for Porto Alegre, crashed on Avenida Marquês de Sao Vicente in the Barra Funda neighborhood, impacting a passenger bus.

The two occupants of the plane died in the accident, while a motorcyclist and a passenger from the bus were injured and hospitalized. The impact caused the explosion and fire of the transport vehicle, which had few passengers inside according to eyewitnesses.

The Barra Funda neighborhood is an important public transport hub in Sao Paulo, housing metro and train stations, as well as one of the main terminals for urban and long-distance buses. At the moment of the accident, there was an explosive noise followed by a large cloud of black smoke, causing alarm among residents and passersby in the area.
